There is a saying, usually attributed to Benjamin Franklin, that says “nothing is certain except for death and taxes”. As 2016 came to an end, one of the things companies focus on, is filing their 2016 corporate taxes. Single member LLC’s, Corporations, and Partnerships, have a tax deadline of March 16th. As this date approaches fast, here are some documents you will need.
- Financial Statements and General Ledger, or Bank Cancelled Checks
- Bank and Credit Card Statements and Reconciliations
- Payroll Reports
- Loan Statements
- Sales Tax Returns and Supporting Sales Reports
- Loan Statements
- Tax Notices
- New Employee / Independent Contractor Forms (I.e. W-4, I-9)
- Shareholder Transactions (Highlighted / Described)
- Copy of Last Filed Tax Returns
There may be more documents or proofs that are needed for accurate filing but it is safe to say that it applies to a case by case basis.
