EPGD BUSINESS LAW Launches Dedicated Latin America Department, Enhancing Cross-Border Transactional Capabilities

Latin America Department

MIAMI, FL – March 13, 2025 – EPGD Business Law has announced the establishment of EPGD LatAm, a strategic initiative designed to meet the growing demand for specialized legal expertise with a focus on Latin America and Brazil. This new department will focus on facilitating cross-border transactional matters, mergers and acquisitions, asset protection, capital markets, and regulatory matters in the United States for foreign investors, enterprise businesses and high net worth individuals, family offices, and advising on foreign investment into the United States.

Recognizing the increasing integration of Latin American and U.S. markets especially in the South Florida market, EPGD LatAm aims to serve as a premier legal partner for businesses and other professionals engaged in international transactions or seeking to expand into the U.S. market. EPGD LatAm will offer specified and comprehensive legal counsel in the following areas:

  • Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A): Providing comprehensive legal counsel through all phases of M&A transactions, with a focus on cross-border aspects and challenges.
  • Capital Markets: Advising on fund formation.
  • Regulatory Matters in the United States for Foreign Investors: Advising on and ensuring compliance with U.S. regulatory requirements for foreign investors and businesses, including SEC regulations and Blue Sky laws.
  • Asset Protection: Organizing robust legal structures to protect tangible and intangible assets and tax-favorable strategies.
  • Intellectual Property Protection: Safeguarding your valuable brand assets.
  • Dispute Resolution: Representing your interests in international arbitration and US litigation related to foreign investment.
  • Government Relations: Assistance with government contracts, advocacy, and lobbying.

Grant Kaplan Torres, Esq. (Director, Latin America) stated, “The formation of our Latin America focused initiative reflects our commitment to delivering superior guidance and expertise in an increasingly globalized economy. We are confident that our team’s extensive knowledge of both Latin American and U.S. legal frameworks will be invaluable to our clients in achieving their business objectives.”

EPGD Managing Partner Oscar A. Gomez summed up the internal initiative as follows: “ The firm has been making great relationships in Latin America over the last ten years with other professionals, foreign businesses, family offices and high net worth individuals. We want to make clear to those partners that we have a team committed to servicing their legal and business needs in the U.S. market and abroad. We have multiple attorneys that are barred in LatAm jurisdictions in addition to the U.S. and multiple attorneys that are highly proficient in Spanish and Portuguese so this is really just an outgrowth of our existing footprint.”

EPGD LatAm will attend the E-Merge Conference in Miami Beach in May 2025, and plans to visit with our clients and strategic partners in Colombia in Q2 2025.

This strategic expansion reaffirms EPGD Business Law’s role as a leading legal authority for businesses leveraging opportunities within the dynamic Latin American market.
