Originally from Michigan, Benjamin grew up in Naples, Florida, where he first took an interest in the legal profession after volunteering with the diversionary program, Teen Court, working with first time juvenile offenders. Benjamin graduated summa cum laude with his Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Psychology from Florida State University. He then graduated magna cum laude from the Florida State University College of Law. While in law school, Benjamin clerked at various corporate and civil litigation firms, working on a wide variety of civil corporate and business related matters.
After law school, Benjamin took a position as the in-house counsel for a large South Florida title company, providing legal counsel to its executives and employees on issues involving corporate governance, compliance, contracts, and ongoing legislation. Prior to joining EPGD Business Law, Benjamin served as the lead trademark counsel at a boutique intellectual property firm in South Florida where he was responsible for managing a large portfolio of intellectual property matters, including the prosecution and enforcement of more than 500 trademark applications. During this time, Benjamin was responsible for drafting and negotiating corporate and intellectual property agreements and conducting litigation in state and federal courts and tribunals.
Benjamin was raised by two teachers who instilled in him the mindset that it is best to do something right the first time than need to do it again. It is this mantra by which he conducts his practice and attributes much of his success. When he isn’t working, Benjamin enjoys spending time with his family, going to the beach, cooking, and traveling to new destinations.
