Lauren Ferguson, a native of Tampa, Florida, is currently pursuing her Juris Doctor at the University of Miami, where she has developed a strong interest in real estate and corporate transactions. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a minor in African American Studies, from the University of Florida.
Lauren’s legal experience includes a summer associate position at Hill Ward Henderson, where she honed her legal research and writing skills across various practice areas, such as real property litigation, complex commercial litigation, construction, products liability, and land use. She is also actively involved in her community, volunteering with the Prison Writing Program at the University of Miami, where she helps incarcerated women improve their legal writing skills.
Recognized for her academic excellence, Lauren received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Legal Communication and Research Skills I and II, as well as the Dean’s Certificate of Achievement in Civil Procedure, Contracts, and Legal Communication and Research Skills II. She was also elected by her peers to serve on the University of Miami School of Law’s Honor Council, and she is a Junior Staff Editor for the Race and Social Justice Law Review.
Before law school, Lauren gained valuable experience in the finance industry, working as a Financial Analyst Management Program Intern at Bank of America, a Banking Intern at Wells Fargo, and completing an externship at a private equity firm in Tampa.
Guided by her personal motto, “To whom much is given, much is required,” Lauren is committed to using her legal knowledge to help people find solutions to real-world problems. Outside of her professional pursuits, she enjoys cooking, staying active through personal fitness, and rekindling her love for leisure reading.
